\"Alexander's Ragtime Band\" is a Tin Pan Alley song by American composer Irving Berlin released in 1911; it is often inaccurately cited as his first global hit. Despite its title, the song is a march as opposed to a rag and contains little syncopation. The song is a narrative sequel to Berlin's earlier 1910 composition \"Alexander and His Clarinet\". This earlier composition recounts the reconciliation between an African-American musician named Alexander Adams and his flame Eliza Johnson as well as highlights Alexander's innovative musical style. Berlin's friend Jack Alexander, a cornet-playing African-American bandleader, inspired the title character.

The deaths of Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon, two Dutch students, occurred after they disappeared on 1 April 2014, while hiking a trail called El Pianista in Panama. After an extensive search, portions of their bodies were found a few months later. Their cause of death could not be determined definitively; Dutch authorities working with forensic and search-rescue investigators initially thought it likely the students had accidentally fallen from a cliff after becoming lost. The circumstances and aftermath of their disappearance have resulted in much speculation about their final days.

Daria J. Willis is an American academic administrator and historian. She is the president of Howard Community College. Willis was president of Everett Community College from 2019 to 2021. She is the first African American president at both institutions. Willis was an assistant professor in history in the Lone Star College System.
